Lifestyle Photography Sessions, Right at Home
With these unique sessions I’ll come to your home and photograph your family doing what you normally do: hanging on the couch, making a meal, building forts, running around outside. There’s no studio, no stiff poses and no pressure to smile on cue. You get honest, natural photos of the people you love in the place that feels most like you. This can be your home, or any other location that brings you joy!
Why photograph at home
- Everyone is more comfortable. Kids play, grownups relax, and the real personalities show up.
- The details are part of the story. Your kitchen, your backyard, your favorite chair all belong in your family’s photos.
- It’s easy. No travel, no packing the car and no rushing to get everyone out the door on time.
How it works
- Get in touch. Tell me about your family and what you’d like to capture, and we’ll pick a date and time.
- I’ll provide a short guide. It covers what to wear and how to prepare, so you’re not stressing the day before.
- The session. I arrive, we chat, and I photograph your family as you go about a few simple activities. I’ll give gentle prompts, but mostly I just follow along.
- Your gallery. Your edited photos arrive in an online gallery within 2 weeks. You always have the full rights to your images, and can download, print, and share them as you desire.

How much work is required from my staff?
WIW tries to make the day as easy as possible for you. You will receive a printable flier prior to the portrait day that will provide a link and QR code for parents to prepay. We bring a list the day of, and work from that. Parents can pay the day of if needed, but we ask that the minimum number are signed up prior to portrait day.
You will likely need to designate someone to make sure classes are brought down for their portraits in a timely manner. Some schools like to provide a dedicated staff member to make things even smoother, but this is not required.
What should we wear?
Comfortable clothes that feel like you. Soft, coordinated colors work well, and I’ll send a short guide before your session. Avoid large logos and busy patterns.
How long does a session last?
Usually about 2 hours, which is long enough for everyone to settle in and for me to capture a variety of moments.
What if my kids won’t cooperate?
That’s completely normal and part of the plan. I follow their lead and keep things playful, so the real moments happen on their own.
Can we print the photos?
Yes, your gallery includes printing rights, so you can print wherever you like.
I also offer prints and albums for an additional fee, but this is never required.
Where do you travel?
I serve Hampton Roads and surrounding areas. If it’s within a 90 minute drive of Newport News, we can make it happen!
